Our journey to cut down a tree this year did not go well. We went with my brother-in-law Scott up the canyon and our Bronco broke down before we could even get to the tree. So we rode the rest of the way with Scott and they only were able to cut one down for Scott because the saw was too dull and I for got the chainsaw, and it was getting dark. There is a TON of snow this year in the canyon too. The story is more dramatic and lengthy than this but you can get the idea.
So, I got mad and just went and bought a fake tree. I know, that is against my moral code, but I did it anyway. So yesterday we decorated it and it blew Jade's mind! She was laughing and having so much fun. Now her favorite thing to do is hug the tree. She wraps her arms around it and presses her face against the tree. She also got up this morning and plugged in the lights, so we had to put a stop to that, but she has been really fun and so cute about it.

we have a fake tree, and have had one our whole married lives (minus the tiny Charlie Brown Tree our first year). I know they are not as nice, but they are WAY more financially suave and better for the environment. I have a hard time wanting to cut down a tree just to decorate my house for a month. I'd rather keep it in nature. Now, next year you'll have a tree whenever you are ready for it.
