East Coast Trip

My mom offered to take me to New Hampshire and Maine for 8 days, so of course I said yes! She grew up in New Hampshire, and we've both always wanted to go to Maine, so we went for 8 days and it was really fun! As I said before, my camera broke while there. These are the few pictures that turned out and then I just quit carrying it around because it was too heavy. So my mom has most of the pictures and all of the pictures of Maine. So I will share those when I get them from her. But these show the beauty of New Hampshire in the fall. Here's a good Halloween picture for you. This is a really old cemetery that lies right next to one of the houses my mom lived in as a child. Can you imagine? I would've been freaked out of my mind as a kid. But, it's a very beautiful spot. I learned that everything there is really old. Of course that makes sense because compared to there, things here in the west are relatively new.

Mom just drove me around and showed me everything from her childhood for a few days. It was a lot of fun to just do whatever we wanted. And fun to actually see the places I have just heard about all my life.
This is a small stream that ran by the land that my mom lived on.

I love covered bridges and we got to see one. There was a lot of cars driving through there but luckily I got a shot with out any.

The leaves were changing there and everywhere is literally covered with maple trees. Everywhere looks just like this! I knew we lived in a desert, but after seeing this I am really realizing how much we do. There's only red and yellow patches here and there on the mountains at home. But, I love the open spaces and did feel a little closed in while we were there.

My great grandparents owned this cabin on a lake. It is very cute and a beautiful spot. I wouldn't mind that at all!

My mom and the cabin

This is the lake it is on. I think it is Mascoma Lake.

More luscious foliage. New Hampshire really reminded me of Washington
Just replace the Maples with the pine trees and it is a lot the same.

This is the one picture I took of Portland, Maine. It's a big city with cobblestone streets and old buildings and shops every where like this. The ocean shore is just a block or two away. There are a lot of great seafood places to eat there. But I have other pictures of that I will show when I get them. I actually took this picture minutes before Weldon called me to say we have been asked to adopt another baby! That was a BIG shocker!! and put me into a tailspin for the rest of the day. Sorry to my mom.
It was a really fun trip and one I'll probably never be able to take again and probably never would have if it weren't for mom's generosity. Even though I was homesick, I had a great time and now have great memories. Oh, and thank goodness for a GPS! We never would've been able to see so many places if it weren't for that. I highly recommend one for a vacation.
