Holy Cow!! Jade is 9 weeks old this week! She is growing and making lots of noises. She is 10lb 10oz and 23 inches now. She has grown 3 inches! The doctor said she is perfect. We are so blessed to have a healthy little one.
She had her immunizations this week. I was prepared for the worst because everyone told me so. She calmed down really fast after the 3 shots but about 3 hours later she flew off the handle! Let's just say she had a 3 hour screaming episode. I felt so bad for her but, I knew it would pass and it did, she was fine after that. I just sat and held her all day. It was really sad. Too bad we have to do that again in 2 months.
Sometimes she falls asleep when she's on her tummy on the floor. I love how she tucks her knees under her and crosses her feet lilke this.

We went to the demolition derby on Saturday. I forgot my camera but this is Jade when we got home. She was such a good girl the whole time. The derby was really fun too. The funny thing about the whole situation was Weldon thought it was an Emergency to get there on time. He was out working on the house (I was out there with him till about an hour before) and wanted dinner when he got home so he shows up 15 min before it starts and wants to leave right now! He's not around as much as me so he forgets that it takes time to make dinner and feed the baby and get ready to go. We were ready when he showed up but we had to basically run there because he didn't want to miss a moment of it! Men are funny sometimes.
Weldon takes Saturday nights with Jade. He's so good. This is also after the derby.

We had another visit with Jade's birthfamily last week. They really enjoyed her I think. I also really enjoyed them. We will never be able to thank them enough for our precious daughter.
This is Jade's birthmother and birthfather.

This is Jade's birthmother tickling her. She was very happy the whole time they were here.

~Our Family~ said...

Oh Julie how precious to have the birth family in your lifes and your daughters life.. I know that our children will thank us one day for allowing them to be part of their life too.. I have an open adoption too but I don't see my birthfamily to much since they live in California.. What a beautiful extended family(at least that is what I think of mine) we gain by being a part of each others lives.. She is growing fast just like Braxton.. Enjoy her.. Take care.. I will your present over to you sometime sorry...
